Cutting his teeth as a notable up-and-coming builder, Tom Southen sharpened his craft and kick-started his career, as well as his enviable reputation, with a BCITO apprenticeship and the outstanding accolade of New Zealand Apprentice Builder of the Year in 2014.
Working on a range of building projects throughout the South Island, Tom’s skill set and honed eye for detailed craftsmanship progressed rapidly. Working independently and taking the lead on a wide range of new builds, many in remote and challenging locations, Tom’s reputation as an exceptional carpenter and an outstanding project manager quickly gathered momentum.
Having established Southen Builders in 2015, Tom is proud to work with clients under his own name, inspiring and enabling them while delivering superior outcomes that exceed expectations, all the while providing thoughtfully crafted homes built by experienced hands.
